SoundFlow Support

Quick setup, practical troubleshooting, and safe listening guidance.

Getting started

  1. Open a normal website tab containing audio.
  2. Select the SoundFlow icon in Chrome's toolbar.
  3. Press Start processing. Chrome grants capture access only for that user action.
  4. Adjust volume, enhancements, presets, or the equalizer. Processing continues if the popup closes.
  5. Use Stop to return the tab to Chrome's normal audio path.

SoundFlow cannot process Chrome internal pages such as chrome://settings or the Chrome Web Store.

Troubleshooting

I cannot hear the tab after pressing Start.

Check that the tab and system output are not muted, then press Stop and Start again. If needed, reload the tab. SoundFlow cleans up the capture stream on errors so normal Chrome audio can resume.

The Start button is unavailable.

Switch to a regular http:// or https:// page. Protected browser pages and some restricted content cannot be captured by extensions.

The volume or enhancement has no effect.

Confirm the popup says processing is active for the current tab. Each tab has an independent session, so controls apply only to the displayed tab.

Audio stopped after navigation or reload.

This is expected. SoundFlow ends the old stream on navigation to prevent a capture or website profile from carrying into another page. Open the popup and press Start again.

Audio sounds distorted.

Reduce the volume, bass intensity, and boosted EQ bands. The limiter reduces peak clipping, but extreme combined boosts can still sound compressed or distorted.

How do I reset everything?

Use Reset in the main or advanced controls. In Settings, you can also clear saved website preferences after confirmation.

Listening safety

SoundFlow can amplify audio to 300%. Levels above 200% show a hearing-safety warning. Start low, increase gradually, and reduce the level immediately if sound is uncomfortable or distorted—especially with headphones.

Privacy controls

Per-website saving is optional and disabled by default. You can disable it or clear all saved website preferences from Settings. Audio is processed locally and is never recorded or uploaded. Read the full privacy policy.
