Summary

SoundFlow is a local Chrome audio-processing extension. It has no accounts, backend, telemetry, advertising, or remote code. Audio and settings are processed on your device.

SoundFlow does not record, upload, sell, or share your tab audio.

Audio processing

Processing starts only after you press Start for the active tab. Chrome supplies a temporary tab-capture stream, which SoundFlow routes through the browser's Web Audio API for volume and sound enhancement, then plays back to you.

Captured audio exists only in memory while processing is active. SoundFlow does not save it to disk, convert it into a recording, transmit it, or use it for profiling. Processing stops when you stop it, close or navigate the tab, reload the extension, or the stream ends.

Stored settings

SoundFlow stores global preferences and audio settings in Chrome extension storage so the interface can remember your choices. Temporary live-session metadata may be kept in Chrome's session storage and expires with the browser session.

Per-website preferences are off by default. If you enable them, SoundFlow stores only the normalized hostname (for example, example.com), volume, selected preset, and—when applicable—custom audio settings. It does not store full URLs, paths, page titles, browsing history, or page contents.

Chrome permissions

  • activeTab — identifies the tab you explicitly chose to control after opening SoundFlow.
  • tabCapture — captures audio from that tab after you press Start.
  • offscreen — keeps local audio processing running when the popup closes.
  • storage — saves preferences locally and keeps temporary session state.

SoundFlow does not request broad website access or use content scripts.

Collection, transmission, and sharing

SoundFlow does not collect personal information, browsing history, authentication information, financial information, health information, location, communications, or website content. It does not use analytics or advertising identifiers.

No audio or extension data is transmitted to the developer or third parties. SoundFlow does not sell, rent, share, or use user data for advertising, credit decisions, or any unrelated purpose.

Policy website hosting

This policy and the support pages are served by Cloudflare. Like other web hosts, Cloudflare may process standard connection information, such as an IP address and browser request details, to deliver and protect these pages. The website contains no analytics or advertising code, and the SoundFlow extension does not communicate with it.

Limited Use disclosure

SoundFlow's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Any access is limited to providing the user-facing audio-enhancement features described in this policy.

Your controls

You can stop audio processing at any time, disable per-website saving, reset active audio settings, or clear all saved website preferences from SoundFlow's Settings view. Removing the extension deletes its Chrome-managed local data.
